Connect the Dots

Where I come from: my high points, my low points, and what they're telling me

1Before you start

"Everything that happened to you has shaped who you are today, and that's why you act the way you act. A psychologist asks about your life story because that's where your low points and your high points are. Let's go find them."

This is the same exercise I run in my workshops. It's yours alone: your answers never leave your phone. Be honest, and go as deep as you want to go. Nobody is going to ask you to share it.

I'll use this email to send you updates to this tool and the new tools that come with the book.

2Your moments, stage by stage

STAGE 1 OF 4
Childhood
Ages 0 to 12

There's no right number of moments. If your memory kept it, it mattered. The hard moments count too — sometimes they're the ones that shaped you most. When you're done with this stage, move on to the next one.

3Your timeline, drawn out

"This is, in a way, your line of dots. Look at them together for the first time. What do you see?"

Above the line: what built you. Below: what hurt you. Notice where the dots bunch up, and at what age.

4Patterns and fears

"You have to look back over your whole life and start finding the things that repeat, and repeat, and repeat. It's the only way. 'Hey, this always, always happens to me. Why do I keep doing it?'"
"Those of us who are engineers know that everything has a root cause. The root cause of our limitations? Fear. Everything that happened to us turns into fear. We're born with only two fears — loud noises and heights. Every other fear is learned."

5Your in-depth AI analysis

Here's the gift: a personalized prompt built from YOUR timeline. Copy it, paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, and let the AI be your mirror: it will find patterns you can't see, connect your dots, and name the fear that's holding you back.

Tip: paste it into a new conversation. When the AI answers, answer it back honestly — the best insights come out on the second and third question.

6Let go, so you can be free

"Our whole past is like stones we keep picking up and can't put down. And the way to get free of them is to let them go. It took the people who came out of Egypt forty years to let go of a slave's mindset. You don't have to take that long: the only way you'll be free is to keep working on your fears."

This is the call to action of the whole exercise. Looking at your timeline, your patterns and your fears: choose the THREE things you're deciding to let go of today so you stop being a slave to your fears. It could be a grudge, what people will say, a belief somebody planted in you, a habit that owns you, a relationship that drains you, an app that's eating your life.

MY COMMITMENT TO FREEDOM

"Our battle is in the mind. I decide how I feel, not anybody else."

Take a screenshot and put it somewhere you'll see it every day. What you sign, you keep.

Your center of power

"What limits you, at its core, is fear. And your center of power is knowing that you can love yourself and that you can learn from your failures. Our battle is in the mind."
